* How to Starve Cancer - Jane McLellan's "Protocol for Cancer" has four keys to success - Establish the best diet; Know what, when and how to exercise; Work out the key supplements to take in order to block the dominant pathways; Understand the potential of certain off-label drugs.
* Breast Cancer 101 - a good introduction to breast cancer risk factors, types and treatment.
New Zealand
* Cancer Society NZ - is here to help and support people with cancer and their whānau, and has branches in most parts of New Zealand. They offer a wide range of social support and exercise programmes, and offer discounted or free services such as counselling, massage, and travel assistance.
* Breast Cancer Foundation NZ - has a number of roles, including: providing support services and information for patients with breast cancer and their families and friends; providing education about breast awareness, screening-mammograms, breast cancer risk and breast health; supporting new research and clinical trials in areas that will make a real difference; and advocateing to government agencies about current issues in breast cancer treatment. They also have specialist Breast Cancer Nurses you can reach by phone or email. who can give 1-1 advice on issues affecting you and your treatment.
* Aotearoa NZ Breast Cancer Community - Provides solidarity, support and the sharing of experiences to New Zealanders with breast cancer, to let each other know that we are not alone.

Why 'lost their battle' with serious illness is the wrong thing to say - For cancer there is no outside enemy who means harm. Rather it's the body's own cells that are doing the damage, growing wildly out of control and taking a toll. Fortunately, there are effective treatments for many cancers — many patients go on to show no evidence of disease. Other people die from the illness, and it doesn't mean they didn't fight a good fight. It's just that in those cases, neither drugs nor surgery nor other therapies could stop the malignancy's progression.
